Jewelry Is The New Poem

April 11, 2009

artist andy uprock is collaborating with turn me on designs on a new line of jewelry called poetry in braille.

If a pyramid dangling from your neck doesn’t get you thinking about structure and form, try a ring you can read by touch or a cone pendant inscribed with Braille. Poetry in motion, indeed.

no doubt this is a new incarnation of uprock’s larger installations described as,

M
“large scale braille poetry; pieces out of cups that can be read with the hands. His long term vision with these works is to communicate graffiti with a poetic message to the blind. He is currently preparing an exhibition of his Braille series titled ‘Sign Language’ to be shown at the MTV Gallery in November 2008 in association with Vision Australia”

thank god ‘cuz you can’t wear a fence.  even if you could design the fence you couldn’t wear it.
