Extra! Extra! Shakespeare Inspires Pop Star!
If you asked us to predict the ways in which William Shakespeare might inspire the creative output of Danity Kane member, Aubrey O’Day, we’d have said: a dildo with “If love be rough with you, be rough with love” printed on it in glittery hot pink, called “The Billdo: ” (get it? Bill + Dildo = Bildo!).
Well, we were WRONG. way wrong. and it’s way bad.
Seems that Aubrey O’Day is not only in the business of pop music and terrible, terrible dressing, she’s now a designer. Yes. A designer whose clothing line is “based around the concept” of Shakespeare’s verse. Heart on My Sleeve includes T-Shirts that say “hate is the new love” and “DJs make me horny.” And briefs that say “Bad Boys Make My Panties Drop.” Whoa Aubrey, what about “Poets Make My Panties Drop”?
In case you’re not outraged/shocked, we leave you with this pull-quote:
Heart On My Sleeve, a phrase originated by William Shakespeare, has been in use for hundreds of years. But, in this new day and age of pop culture, Heart On My Sleeve is not simply a phrase, it’s a statement…
We know, we know. Now you’re just disturbed, sad, and feeling helpless.
