August 10, 2005

Jessa Crispin, of Bookslut fame, has an article in the current issue of The Book Standard. Crispin applauds Chicago’s reading series and literary enthusiasts for offering so many great events , but she’s pissed at the city for what its literary world is missing: jobs in the field: What’s missing [in Chicago] is the ability to earn a living wage in the lit field—unless you consider eking out an existence on a bookseller’s salary a “living.” , Crispin writes. Check out the rest of her commentary. Then return to your English major job hunting ways: visit http://www.idealist.org, http://www.guru.org, http://www.npo.net, rinse and repeat.
