We Like That Poetry Got A Whole Month

and we LOVE that–at least once a year–newspapers, local tv personalities, and municipalities “think” or  even “talk” about poetry. but enough already with the frickin’ TS Eliot references. april is, in no way, the “cruelest” month.

it strikes me–when reading the myriad of passages about poetry month, whose hackneyed gambit is Eliot’s own–that if all I knew about poetry was the “The Waste Land” I probably wouldn’t get it either.
